Caffeine Postitive

Postby jainct » Sun Dec 02, 2007 1:17 pm

Hello all:

Does anyone know of any trainer or trainers that have been exonerated for a caffeine postitive within the last year or two? I found some trainers but that was back in the late 90's but nothing recently. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
jainct

West Virginia Breeders Classic race this years, trainers name is Freddie Johnson. Tested positive for caffiene after he won the big one, go figure security was very tight that day.

One trainer had a caffine positive and paid OSU to prove the source was M&Ms fed before the race. 1998, he was 'eventually exonerated"

Hello all:

Thank you KamiBrooks. I had found that article earlier.

Thank you 30west. You hit the nail on the head. That's the horse. It's a shame since that has been the only postitive for caffeine at CT since 1999. A big race like that is sad to see such a thing especially given the fact the trainer has a clean record. The industry needs to do something about caffeine. I would think the horse either had candy or coffee or maybe it was the straw or hay was contaminated. The purse is still being held because trainer has appealed but I would think it's going to be tough to win the case.

Thank you Tucumari. Yes, that does happen. I know a trainer that had just told me this the other day. It happened to him.

Best regards,
Jainct

Hello all:

By the way, the horse (Eastern Delite) came back to finished a game 2nd beating that same horse (Confucius Say) in the Breeders Classic. I believe Caffeine especially when you are talking about nanograms will not enhance a horses performance. If I'm not wrong I think caffeine stays in the system longer in horses than in humans.

Best regards,

We have had a case with morphine in our country it was even less than nanograms. Source puppy seeds from the papaver family.
But in our country there is a stringent zero, that means nothing at all.

I personally would prefer the morphine be given to me than the horse....

Tuc, people were arguiing that the puppy seeds which were in the feed contaiming the stuff.
Dodson & Horrell and other feed suppliers saying that they can not prevent it.
As the papaver somniferum is produced at larger scale for the industry as ever before in England.
So in England the feed suppliers are funding capital because of the fact that owners from any positive tested winner or placed horses will put a claim on them as the horses are automatically disqualified from the results

I know it seems to be foolish enough, but even the TV has paid negative attention to this case.
And of course with an ex prisoned very big drugs dealer from the past who is having a share in the positive tested horse.
