Sorry to have missed everyone - we were there both days & bought 1 mare & 1 weanling . . . the mare's not in the least commercial, but one heck of a turf/allowance mare & a good fit on pedigree & conformation to a stallion we want to breed her to, and is open for an early cover.
We expect to race the offspring anyway, so the "not commercial" thing isn't such a drawback for us.
The filly may be sold or may end up in our broodmare band when she's done racing - we'd be happy with either.
It seemed like a buyer's market again, probably due to the economy. Last year I wasn't especially impressed with the horses consigned; this year they seemed better, but didn't sell well at all.

No, apparently we were there . . . and Gerry attended well enough long-distance enough that between us, we brought home five!
Kidding [okay, not about the brought home 5 part]. The sale was NOT well attended at all, and I think the weather probably played a big part.
On our way down I-83 on Sunday, there was a huge ice-related back-up in the north-bound lanes & I understand that it was pretty icy around Philadelphia on Monday & that kept people who'd intended on being there for the yearlings/horses in training home -- and like us, many people just won't buy if they haven't seen the horse in person.

From what I saw on the net the weanlings seemed to do ok .
A few I was looking for sold way above my expectations, but one Black Tie affair gelding did not even move at 1k...... and my real player dropped the feed before I even got a chance to see him...

trying to come up with something brillant..... this may take a while.
We didn't get to the sale as early as planned so the table outside the cafe was taken. We were stuck behind the accident at 83 & 695. So, I didn't get to meet anyone. The weanling I wanted went for more than I had hoped. My wife managed to buy one while I was getting coffee, so we didn't get shut out.
Did anyone get a look at the Victory Gallop? I was involved early, but got concerned when the price didn't go as high as I thought it should. I was just wondering what issues he may have had. Late arrival coupled with the frigid weather made preview impossible.
We'll be at the Texas sale Sunday. I'll be wearing a Texas A & M shirt and I'd be happy to meet anyone who is going. I usually hang out near the preview paddock at the picnic tables.

I wish we could have attended in person but then would probably have had to make 2 trips to pick up mares. Next year we will probably just make shipping arrangements and do the phone thing again..the weather was awful and the trip home was eventful but we made it home safe but a little banged up
The mares are absolutely beautiful so I couldnt be happier
