Mating Advice for 2 time champion mare!
OK so its only British Columbia but not many horses can claim that on their resume!
The mare is Ultimate Force she is by Vying Victor and she is on the query. She was champion 2 & 3 year old filly won a Candian graded stake. What kind of special considerations do you think this mare could get?And to whom?
The people who own this mare are friends of mine and I think they are willing to travel but would like to keep it under 10K.They are breeding to race.
Opinions appreciated!

Hi FOS,
I would say that Ultimate Force is a average size mare......maybe a little slight in behind but relatively correct. Nice shoulder and neck......cant think of anything else.
Best Regards,
Ryeno

hi Ryeno
Since the plan is to race the offspring of British Columbia champion race filly Ultimate Force...I can only assume that racing at Woodbine (which likely is considered by most to be Canada's premier racetrack) is a strong possibility.
If that's the case, you might consider the following since Woodbine races on both an artificial surface (polytrack) and turf.
I might suggest that you consider a stallion (for Ultimate Force) that is connected (in some fashion) to a sire that got a highly successful racehorse in Canada...while at the same time offering a degree of confidence re the possibility of siring a horse that can handle (and run successfully on) artificial surfaces (of which Woodbine is one)...and/or the turf.
I would submit that Stormy Atlantic (don't worry Ryeno, I know he's waaaaay above the budget constraints...read-on) is a stallion that sired Canadian 2-yo champion Leonnatus Anteaus in 2006. In that same year (2006) SA sired Stormello, who won a G1 on the artificial/all-weather surface (at Hollywood Park). SA also sired the standout turf filly Quite a Bride, etc etc etc.
With all that in mind (and more), and knowing the info which you suppled (re stud fee/expense considerations) pertaining to Ultimate Force...Stormy Atlantic's stud fee (advertised at $45k for 2008) would emphatically exclude him from consideration. All things considered though...why not consider a son of his.
Stormello (by Stormy Atlantic and out of a Carson City daughter) is advertised at $15k...therefore above budget (even moreso if/when expenses are tacked on). Gators n Bears (by SA also and out of a daughter of Notebook) stands in Maryland, and is advertised at $5k for 2008. He was a brilliant sprinter...but his dam's family might not offer enough in the way of pedigree/sire-power, to suggest that a trip to Md is likely worthwhile.
That said, and all things considered...why not take a hard look at Indian Ocean (by Stormy Atlantic and out of a daughter of Halo). He won sprinting, but also won (a G3 no less) going a mile and a sixteenth (at Hollywood Park) on the main track. He had a ton of ability (never finishing worse than 3rd, before his career was short-circuited due to injury) and won over some genuine real-deal racehorses. As far as I'm concerned, he's quite the looker too (you might glance at his photo in the stallion directory).
I've seen him in the flesh...and he is (from my perspective) beautifully conformed/balanced, and an exceptional walker and fluid mover (you might want to watch his video on thoroughbredtimes.com). To my way of thinking, he is quite a package.
As mentioned above, IO's first dam is by Halo...his 2nd dam is by Gone West, and his 3rd dam is a Northern Dancer full-sis to Storm Bird. IO's sire (Stormy Atlantic) seems to be quietly (or maybe not so quietly) moving up the ladder of success.
You could select any number of stallions that might fit Ultimate Force...but (within the budget constraints) I sense that Indian Ocean (who has first yearlings in 2008), and Omega Code (also in Florida, and with first foals of racing age in 2008) are two young Florida-based stallions that might ultimately earn a move to the bluegrass...and might be worthy serious consideration. OC was a brilliant sprinter (and G3 winner too) but he doesn't seem (in general) to put as much leg under a horse as IO does (in general).
When you described Ultimate Force as "average size" (your words)...and after glancing at her pedigree, Indian Ocean (for many reasons, including those mentioned above) came to mind. He might just be the ticket. For what it's worth...I give him a big chance for success as a racehorse sire.
Whatever the final selection (of a stallion) for Ultimate Force in 2008...best of luck to you and all of UF's connections.
Best

Hi there,
I really like this young lady with Victory Gallop.
Vying Victor hails from the foundation Windfields family of Victoriana. I have observed that foundation Windfields lines like to be crossed back on themselves--take a look at some of Regal Classic's and Silver Deputy's results with a return of Windfields--and the full brothers Vice Regal and Vice Regent are a prime conduit for that. Ultimate Force carries Victoriana through their three-part sister Victorian Heiress.
Linebreeding to Vice Regal or Vice Regent with Victory Gallop has produced $230k winner Twilight Gallop (by Regal Classic), $180k winner Bucharest (by Salt Lake), SW of $200k One Smooth Ride (by Marquetry), and a couple of $30k-ish winners with dams by Silver Deputy, Deputy Minister, I wouldn't have been so intrigued by this had Victory Gallop not been bred, twice, with a mare named Brush with Tequila. One foal raced in Japan and won 3 times and the other was a 2-time stakes winner in Louisiana. Brush with Tequila's 2nd dam, Sheila's Girl, is by a son of Victoria Park, another half-brother to the dam of Vice Regal/Vice Regent.
On Ultimate Force's side, linebreeding to Victoriana via Vying Victor and Vice Regent resulted in BC stakes winner Commodore Craig.
Victory Gallop stands for $10k.
Another tack which would bring in Deputy Minister on a budget is Tenpins...combining the best of Windfields with the best of Sam-Son has proved remarkably successful thus far (see also Curlin, Super Freaky, and Smarty Deb), and he has the 50% off deal for regional foaling going on. Of the two I like Victory Gallop better for her.

why not breed to Regal Classic? I think he is the real thing! NY is going to have a small foal crop this year based on past years you may be able to get a deal on him..

Two stallions to consider Benchmark and Tribal Rule
Breeding to Benchmark you would be line breeding
Plum Cake 4x4
Northern Dancer 4x5
Nasrullah 5x5x6
Breeding to Tribal Rule you would be line breeding
Bold Ruler 4x5
Northern Dancer 4x5
Both are proven sires that can get the big horse.
