Hmmm, why the emphasis on FLOYD's
second dam, Golden Belt? (http://www.pedigreequery.com/floyd5)

Any guess or information?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

:D :D :D

I don't have any new info on CAB's roan offspring, but on another forum there was a discussion about the white Zabeel filly and white TB's in Australia and New Zealand. If you haven't seen it already you'll probably find it interesting.

Thought I'd post these white horses for everyone to check out. Very interesting, I didn't realize there were quite a few more in Australia.

and her son http://www.pedigreequery.com/khaleben

Then I came across this horse listed as a buckskin. Is this correct? Or a database mistake?

the only thing I can see about Floyd is that the same person owned/bred Slip Catch and Bletchicano, maybe it was an accident or just convienent?

I also looked at Del Mar on the Australian website and they have her listed as a bay not a buckskin.

On the bottom left there is a box where you put the horses name and it says "find horse" next to it. You don't need a login :D

Slip Catch & Bletchicano are both out of Golden Belt

-------------------Americano
-------------Bletchicano
---------------Golden Belt
Floyd
------------------Catch a Bird (NZ)
-------------Slip Catch
--------------Golden Belt

I told the breeder he was an idiot! Despite that he did it twice. There is a full sister to Floyd, presumably still on the farm.

Dear Wymanda,

But, do you know the phenotypical rationale (if there is one), or can guess it, behind that procedure. There has to be some reason, I guess.

Makes me remember the procedure used to achive white tigers during the early 1950s, in which they crossed the only known cropout white tiger in existance with his own 4 non-white tiger daughters. After doing this they achieved what they pursued and now all white tigers that exists today trace themselves to that cropout tiger.

There must be some "rationale".

I suppose it comes down to the old saying that "if it works its line breeding, if it doesn't its inbreeding"!

Not a fan of breeding this close but it has produced a blue roan colour & a strawberry roan colour.

Wymanda,

Interesting. Would you please explain a little more the aforementioned quote?

Thanks again,

Its a while since the breeder told me but if i remember it correctly the colt (Floyd) displays a blue roan colour and he has a full sister who appears strawberry (red) roan. I haven't seen pictures and am as intrigued as you are. I will try to contact him and obtain pics.
