I've noticed that few horses list the owner/breeder name in the property line on the catalog page for an auction. Most only say "consigned by ....
Any thoughts on why this is and why I wouldn't want to disclose myself as the breeder?

There are small breeders who feel that their horses will have more credibility in the marketplace, if it isn't disclosed that he/she was bred by someone "unimportant" in the industry. They want their horse to be associated with their big consignor's name rather than their own.
Bear in mind, that even if you chose not to disclose, the "cheat books" that every serious buyer has at the sales will name you as the horse's breeder, so you're not really going to stay hidden regardless.
