Any thoughts on Paris Kentucky as a place to live? I am looking at a place for sale on Cane Ridge Road. I am selling horses and looking to move sometime in the future. I like it here in Maine but land is much more affordable in Kentucky. I would be working in Georgetown.

I think it is a great idea! I LOVE Paris - it is probably my favorite place in the world. The antique shops and the great little places to eat - plus being home to Claiborne and Quillin - it doesnt get any better!!
The only downfall is work in that area - however if you already have work in Georgetown then it isn't a concern and the commute is only about 20-30minutes.
Plus - there is a HUGE Wal-Mart and my personal favorite - Starbucks!!
Good Luck!

Hi Keith,
I'd say that you need to go there and see what it's like.
Personally I like KY and the Lexington area but you're the one that would have to live there.
Best of luck.
Regards,
Pete

Georgetown
Hi everyone!!!
I put in for Georgetown and also put in for Paris and Versailles. Georgetown has an opening so I am very seriosly considering a transfer. I am use to the heat as I moved up her from North Carolina living in the Virginia Beach area while in the Navy. I have been up here since the summer of 2002.

madelyn is right - it is like no other place on earth - miles & miles of black fencing, beautiful horses & the grass is blue when you get off of the plane at keenland bluegrass - calumet is right across the road & it is a sight to be hold - the people where very nice & friendly - they did talk funny though - but northerners talk funny also - I could never imagine living in one of those mansions - they are so beautiful -
claiborne's help was real nice - took only 6 or 8 vistitors on a tour of the farm - men worked with the horses - women worked in the 'office' but not with the horses - it was a wonderful trip
