Curlin/Jess Jackson throw down

Postby Tiz » Wed Aug 13, 2008 9:37 pm

Did you all hear about Jess Jackson calling out IAEH? Hilarious response by Ivarone. Methinks there will be no matchup. How about you?

No I don't.

you can blame both but at the same time you really can't blame niether if that makes sense.

Curlin has already won the horse of the year and he did it demolishing a crop of horses that are 5x better than this one. if anyone has nothing else to prove it's curlin. He has won a breeders cup classic on dirt. If the connections feel that they don't want to run him on that out there in SA, can you really blame him? I promise you they aren't scared of Big brown and anyone who suggests otherwise.. well.. isn't paying close attention. why would you run your horse if you know he isn't going to give his best performance.

The Big Brown Camp on the other hand, has stated since June that they are going to run 2 races, than the Breeders Cup classic. If they WANTED to give it a go, they could make 1 more start, in the JCGC and then go to the classic, but they have stated that they want to protect his feet by running on turf. Can't say I blame him. they are looking out for the best care of the horse.

NO one really is to BLAME, but at the same time, if IEAH want to go around saying they are the best, they have to beat the best, that means going out of your way and facing curlin on his track and beating him fear and square. If they cant' do that, then they need to shut up.

I second that notion. BTW you said beating him "fear" and square which is a great Freudian slip . . . :D

Let's have a Match Race. I'm not kidding. They should do it.

i don't even think big brown is the best horse in his crop (casino drive), let alone the best horse in racing.

I'm not sure Curlin could stop chuckling long enough to put in a good performance.

BB's connections and their big flapping yaps finally got a "bring it on" from Curlin's camp and the back out of it gamely. Show's no balls on BB's camp.

BB camp have no confidence due to his last two races; the latter a rather visually unimpressive start. Watch him break out with a monster run in his next start.

I doubt if they will connect since Curlin's camp already came out publicly and stated the BC Classic is not the race thay are pointing for..

If they landed the two, Hollywood Park could corner the market with a big money match race during their Fall meet. Earmark a percentage of the handle to a Thoroughbred Retirement Fund. It could make for an awesome event and wagering smasher of a day...

Naw they couldn't because Jackson doesn't want to run Curlin on a synthetic track.
I just think BB's connections should step up to the plate or zip it.

What happens to all this Curlin/Big Brown talk if Curlin doesn't win the Woodward?

Hopefully "the great debate" will go away. I'm sick of these owners talking as if they actually did the running.
