Livermore Dream- Mt. Livermore filly for Sale

Postby Keith » Fri Feb 04, 2005 4:06 pm

Hi everyone!

I was contacted to see if I knew if anyone is interested in Livermore Dream. She is by Mt. Livermore-Avidora by Theatrical 2nd dam by Mr. Prospector. 3rd dam by Caro 4th dam is out of Exclusive. She broke her Maiden in Maiden Special Weight at Tampa. Her full sister is a Maiden Special Weight winner and Allowance placed at Delaware Park. Her dam is a half sister to the dam of Stakes winner Abbey Bridge. A lot of good sires in her pedigree.

I was contacted as well and it is a situation now where the mare has been left to the barn manager to decide. They stated no price but said they just wanted what was owed for backboard.

Hopefully, someone will be interested in her. Does anyone have the location of where she is?

Wow!!
I saw that she had sold and I was dissapointed that they hadn't posted photos yet... I had been curious about her looks...

Is she still in NE?
How could someone default on boarding & owe $2,000? Seems like a lot of months' worth of boarding to add up to that...

The ha ha was because i was e-mailed about the mare.. said they just want the back board for her... so I inquired about the price and she tells me the $1500 the owner paid for her and then another $500 for back board.

If i had wanted this filly I would have bought her originally for $1,500.
I am not about to pay anyone else's back board also.

I am not saying she isn't worth it.. she probably is. I just thought they way I was approached about her was a joke.

My barn is full anyway......

That's the way I understood it as well Karie. Problem is it creates a concern for the mare, who by no fault of hers, may find herself heading down a path where she could be at risk. I really don't like when this type of situation occurs - if the original owner has relinquished ownership to the barn manager, then certainly the barn manager is also seeking to profit some besides the owed backboard (*if* this is the actual situation now). For the barn manager one would think that instead of the continuation of an unwanted/unplanned horse they'd cut their loss and locate a good home for her where she is wanted (in an ideal world of course!)

Surely they'd just want rid of her - considering every day she is there they have to pay to keep her??? What a shame. I bet when the breeder thought of a Mt. Livermore covering they never thought she'd be in someones' barn for sale for backboard cost

Next question is, who has her papers? They SURE won't get $2K for an abandoned boarder with no papers...

Maybe they had more than one horse boarded. Hey...I know of someone who owes $90k plus in back board & breeding fees and they just put his horses through an auction. I asked the same question...how did they let it get that far out of hand? People will do what you let them get away with.

Sweet Jesus!!!! Why was this horse not worth $5000? Was she 14 hands, broke down and had E.P.M.? she is only 4yrs old now. Was she unraceable ? does anyone know the whole story? She is a special weight winner correct? I am flabbergasted.....for Petes sake she is a Canadian bred too I believe. Please post any updates. Thanks.

They want $2000 for her and she is suppose to be sound.

Hi!
She is 15'3 and bay. She won a her Maiden at Tampa for a 16,000 purse and that was one of her only good races that she run. They have not got much run out of her lately and that is why she was for sale on Canter because they did not feel she was worth shipping to Florida. I do not know what conformational faults she may have. The person who has her just wants her board which is probably around $500. She just wants her board and to sell her said would make everyone happy because her owner apparently wants to sell her and she wants her board. They want $2,000 for her or the best reasonable offer. You can PM me if you want her email address.

Oh I dont doubt that Madelyn but this is a young filly that obviously can run a little but has run into a dead end right now. There are many upsides to her and I will be enquiring asap as how to get her out of this mess. Pity she is so far away ....sounds like a winter down here would have helped. An earlier post had her sold already though? Regards.

ok... Race record is that she has 10 starts.. 1 win no places or shows and $9k in earnings.

I asked about the papers in my first e-mail to the barn owner and that was NOT answered.

I think she is worth the $1500 I just wasn't fond of the approach that the person did in trying to "sell" this mare for back board plus the $1,500.

Marli- I don't think this mare in in danger from what the barn owner wrote.. you don't have to worry about that. I don't like this situation either but I don't have $$$ or room right now and MA is WAY too far from Michigan to go look at this horse....
