So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
This could eventually change the industry if a reliable, easy to administer test was developed that could identify mares with this genetic problem. It could save breeders tens of thousands of dollars ... but it could also make some very well bred yearling/two year old fillies worth much less and make them virtually worthless once their racing days were over. OTOH, owners who had fillies with this genetic problem would keep them racing longer rather than retire them for breeding.
