Nope, sure havent. Also havent heard from Halo either, who is in Reddick despite repeated emails asking how they fared.

So.. anyone know what town Sandi lives in? Perhaps we could look up Sandi Johnson in x town, Fla. And has anyone heard from Mahubah (who is more north I believe)?? I read on yahoo about 1/2 mile long lines folks from Fla are waiting in for food and fresh water... horrible.

Ugh. I think she mentioned it. I will do a minute of research and see if I can dig up where Sandi lives. Mahubah? Dunno.

OK, she said at one time that she was about 30 miles east of that big lake in the tip of FLA, so, according to this map I found online,

http://www.flausa.com/destinations/state-6.pdf

it looks like it should be something like Inidantown or Stuart or something. I don't think she lives right on the very coast. I wonder if there are any other towns, other than those on this map.

I'll Someone might try looking her up in those towns, I don't remember her full name, 'tho I have that around somewhere, probably on my home puter, too...

Actually, I'm pretty sure Sandi lives just north of West Palm Beach, in Wellington. Mahubah is in the Ocala area. Sandi probably doesn't have electricity back yet....

Huh. You may be right, Madelyn, but I thought once she said, in describing one of the storms coming in, that she lived, or had her horses, or something, right between the laks and the coast, east of the lake, but I could be fergittin.

Didnt sandi say once she was about 7 miles inland? I cant recall. Finally heard from Halo tho, who writes: "Lost electric and phones, for who knows how long this time. Winds were far worse, and lots of really huge trees down over town. Didnt lose any myself tho"

Halo, forgive me for quoting your status report here but inquiring minds want to know.... :)

Ok, I'm back -- no power for over 48 hours, but otherwise unscathed. Lost the perishables in the fridge (again!) but the dogs got a bonus, so I guess it's an ill wind indeed that blows nobody good!

Just for the record, Lake City is located just a little to the southeast of the intersection of I-10 and I-75. Ocala's another hour-plus to the southeast down I-75.

Hey, Mahubah, did your groceries even last from one storm to the next? You probably stocked up from one storm, and that re-stock went bad with the next! Bummer, real bummer, folks, I'm sorry about what's happend down there to ya.

GOOD NEWS! Sandi is fine. Power is still off so she is at her Mom's. House is pretty much o.k. Animals fine. Pasture and yard a real mess.

Whew...feeling better now!

Very glad to hear Sandi and her horses are OK. I guess the dogs got maybe $25-$30 worth of meat here; I hadn't restocked too heavily, and probably won't again until hurricane season is over. Anyone got a used generator?

Mahubah, Sandi, and other Floridians - while my only damage here in Philly from Jeanne was the tire on my car, which my husband destroyed driving into a cobblestone uprooted by floodwaters, my sympathies to everyone who is dealing with real catastrophes. To think I used to enjoy hurricanes when I was a kid! Alright, actually, I still do like extreme weather, but four in a row is just numbing. Note to self: improve hurricane preparedness by getting larger dog (a dachshund only thinks it can eat $20-$30 dollars worth of meat, even it is filet mignon)
