Last time the media portrayed the battle of the sexes like they are for the Preakness... was the infamous match race. It makes me a little queasy

Will this 3 yr. old crop of colts & G. keep beating one another , ? are the filly's ahead of the colts? Instead of letting the voters decide, lets let the horses do the talking, lets get it on. Good Luck to all, its time to rumble.

I thought the implication of some of the prior posts was the the article implies girls shouldn't run against boys. I think that was pretty resoundingly demonstrated to be untrue by Rags. You don't have to look far back into the 20th century to find a filly that was successful against the boys - including Curlin if I recall correctly.

I'm not saying Rachel is, or is not, as talented as Rags (or vice versa). I'm saying every once in a while a very talented filly comes along that can dust the boys of her generation in a triple crown race - despite the naysayers

Sorry, I mis-interpreted your post.

What argument is that ? If only 4 or 5 filly winners in 130 plus race history...?
See Makby Diva ? 3 strikes in a row in 3200 meters Melbourne Cup....no boys have done that..but that is not a case to eliminate gender
difference....that is called exceptional...not fluke too..just extraordinary..not average scenario...will wait for a long time b4 the next
occurrence.

What time Preakness out ?

Always, everywhere in the world, weight for age races have had a 5 pound allowance for fillies and mares. Only in handicaps you would find a mare or filly carrying more weight than a colt or gelding.

I still think thats wrong, if you want equality you gotta do what others are doing, carty the same weight. But unfortunatly its not equal. I fully understand why the owners of the colts would complain. And Im a fillly owner.

Well heck, look at what we call "handicaps." Horses don't shoulder 134, 136 pounds anymore. Trainers gripe when their horse is given 120 pounds.

That doesn't change the rule that on weight for age, females get a five pound allowance, whether you like it or not.

Now here's a wild thought....do you think Jackson would entertain taking Rachel over to Dubai? He doesn't hesitate to run horses at four...wonder if he would think of it...just curious.
