I agree that the monthly bill is high....but....what difference does it make if the horse is a 2500 claimer or a 15k claimer? Don't you think they deserve the same care?

I agree she deserves the same care but if im spending $65 a day i would rather spend that money on a horse at Gulfstream or Fair Grounds rather than at Charlestown.

Again, and this is the last response, why do you think we were trying to find her a home as a broodmare. She can still run, but she does need vet work. Whoever is the administrator, please take this post down, the mare is no longer for sale.

Please take this post down Brian??? Are the questions making you dizzy? She has no major problems but she does need vet work? Which half did you sell, the breeding part or the sore legs that need vet work? Yes Ms Roguelet please take this post down!! HOPEFULLY it will all work out for the animal.

Hi Guys,

All I see is OnLineRacingClub trying to place a mare that no longer fits their program. What is the big deal?????? I commend Brian for trying to find the mare a new home. I must have really missed something for this to get blown out of proportion.....................

I am confused :? :? :?

Same here. A lot of the questions would seem more appropriate if they were directed to the original poster privately by people who were actually interested in buying the mare. Otherwise you are just discouraging people using this board to help place horses hopefully to a good home.

Why cant the man just sell his mare. If you're not interested in buying, why post?

Well guys I guess its just a case of too much information then as the thread goes on the man becomes exasperated at all the questions which were pretty valid I thought considering the reasons that were given for the sale. One minute she is having one last run and she is basically sound then she needs vet work, finally they sold half and she is running again for the foreseeable future. As the man with the wooden leg said " Its a matter of a pinion." Anyway I would have thought a guy like our Bargain Bloodstock man would have posted her pedigree and winnings and said Broodmare Prospect for Sale..... end of story. Many good points have been made and hopefully she will escape West Virginia alive which given the current action at Charles Town is no sure thing. Regards to All.

All i can say is jeez.

Maybe its a case of the club's OTHER horses aren't pulling their own weight just yet (but have promise, or haven't gotten in the races, etc), and this mare *could* be the best bet to retire right now? There are probably tons of reasons.
CT is a very expensive track to run at, because stalls are hard to come by since the purses are so good. So $2000 a month isn't at all unreasonable. I think my own trainer is charging right around there, but I haven't had a horse with him since he moved to CT.

All I can say is good luck to you and the mare. I don't think anyone needs to know the exact reason why you're selling her, unless they called you to speak with you about terms. Its one of those cases, its really none of your darn business.
But I understand curiosity and the 'need to know', its just sometimes inappropriate.

I never understand why some folks can't just answer a question or respond to a post, without everything becoming a major conspiracy or a case of someone being stupid. (Which heaven knows, I admit to being on more than one occasion)

I guess it's just a way for the conversation to continue, but when someone wants to sell or buy or breed, there are always those who make it into some great drama...it can get amusing and confusing.
