Thank you, thank you, thank you... This is another of my *dreams* come true! He has been here for two breeding seasons now and although he has been one of my favorite stallions I have kept my distance from him as I thought he was going to be going back down south and I did not want to endure the heart ache of losing him. But now that is all out the window as he will not be leaving. I can still hardly believe it
Oh not to worry you will all be getting lots of updates on his under saddle and showing plans as well...
Sorry HH as much as he would *love* to stop in for a visit he will have to decline. But your mare is always welcome to take a trip north
Evenheaven... I will share todays progress as right now we are still in the learning phase and today he was beyond what I could have expected... Here is my blog on our ride today...

OMG... I have had this horse in *MY* field for the last two years! Either he has had *much* more training than I was ever told about or he is simply an AMAZING horse. You know the feeling that gives you goose bumps...
So today we started on the lung line like yesterday and he was already mouthing less. I talked to him a lot and was really trying to make him relax. He would walk without mouthing and 1/2 the time at the trot. So much better. I get on and do a nice relaxed walk each way. Pick up the trot and try some buttons. Moving off my leg, does that but a bit rusty. Push for more of a trot, not a problem. Across the center and ask for *more* trot... I could barely post! He just went for it. Awesome feeling!!
I put out some individual trot pole before I got on in-case I wanted to try them. All going well so we come up to the first one, he jumps it and canters off... Okay fluke right. He does not even look at it, ears forward and happy to go over. So I go at it again and ask for him to trot it and he does. Pick up canter in the corner. Nice relaxed rein with barely any contact as that makes him really back off. Around each way and fabulous. A bit rusty on picking up the right lead but second time gets it. Now we canter up to the pole which is on the diagonal on the left lead, he jumps the pole (two blue poles side by side) and canters off on the right lead. Fluke? Dunno... Continue on right lead around the arena and plan to go across the other diagonal and think he cannot know the aids for a flying change...we come across and I have no plans on helping him... just ask for it. And guess what... He does a flawless flying change. I looked down to make sure he was just not *that* smooth, as I did not even feel it. And yup, he has it. I phrased him and went down to a walk. Flying change so smooth that I did not even feel it... We ended there. Will see how much of this was a fluke and how much he actually knows tomorrow. Right now I am on cloud nine as I sit here and think to myself... I have this horse sitting in my field for going on two years...
He is not fit at all so short arena time of about 25 min from the time we step in the ring is all we do. He gets puffing by the end...
What a wonderful day!
