Sea The Stars will lead a near capacity field into this year's version of The Arc at LongChamp. The latest 2 additions are the 6 for 6 french 3 yo
filly Stacelita and same age Cavalryman, The former has thus far won 3 G1 and the other bagged one each in its 2009 G1 and G2 contentions.
The 6yo Sunndar's colt Youmzain is highly regarded by his rider Kieren Fallon. It ended top 4 in each of the latest 12f turf events ( all G1) he
was in, but failed to win any.
Sea The Stars biggest drawback is its age. It still remains the top favorite of the betting table though, with his chief rival Fame And Glory next
below him.

Fallon's words from a Racing Post Weekender.
"Look at Generous-he had won everything but was over the top on Arc day, finishing eighth.Troy looked bomb-proof [third].
Refernace Point [eighth] had won two classics and of course, Montjeu [fourth]. Actually the 2000 Arc winner Sinndar was handled magnifcently by John Oxx, but his preperation had been entirely differant to this years champion" he goes on to say his pick of the race would be Conduit but also says "If Youmzain gets a gap, I can see him skipping clear and Mick Channon's star losing his maiden tag in style"

Any horse which aspires to win this year's Arc home will need an additional luck to enable a flawless voyage in a packed field of 19.
Seas The Stars should be quite used to a big field already after Gunieas (15) and UK Derby (12). But unlike the Kentucky Derby which
usually can accomodate up to 20...this kind of field in Arc is not quite often seen in its recent history save for the 2004 version which
went to an unexpected winner, BAGO, in the field of like size.
The destiny of Sea The Stars this afternoon in Longchamp is crucially linked to the way the entire field runs, not just how it will run.
The ante post top favorite 3 yo wonder boy has witnessed its payout shortened further, from 9/4 to 5/6. On this basis, I will rather
take a punt on Frankie Dettori's mount Cavalryman and Michael Stoute-trained 4 yo Dalakhani colt Conduit. He won the BC Turf and
the 14f UK St Leger in 2008 and romped home in the King & Queen Diamond Stakes early this season. Conduit scored 6 wins and 5
places from 12 lifetime starts. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Breathtaking, beat at least six G1 winners and had Youmzain in 2nd just as Dylan Thomas and Zarkava did.
Does that make him the best horse ever, surely not?
But he has beaten what has raced against him time for the breeders cup or to stay in racing next year, one season doesn't make the greatest racehorse ever.

Oh my gGd, what a horse. Can you imagine, firstly he is pulling on the inside and then the two in front are going a fanatic pace. My husband already cried that he was beaten, but I had hopes, since I saw a few of his earlier races. This horse has pace when the jockey askes him.
He is a champion: A HORSE IN A LIFETIME
And to all of my American PQ mailfriends: it was said that if everything goes according plan, STS will go to THE BREEDERS CLASSIC.
Don't miss this guys!!
