hi freddymo
Yes It's True is quite the eyeful...his foals and yearlings have sold Very Well (all things considered)...and he's strutting his stuff as a race horse sire (at least so far) with his first crop just 3-year-olds of 2005.
Northern Afleet is a very nice horse...and could break through to a new level of appeal and success as a sire...but he will NEVER be the "looker" that Yes It's True is.
Regardless...NA has sired a number of very nice horses (the best one being his current classic hopeful...Afleet Alex) from his first three crops to race...and his future may be very bright. If Afleet Alex goes on and/or another convincing Northern Afleet comes to the fore...you may see a bump in what it might cost to acquire a season to NA...possibly during the current breeding season.
Respectfully

Northern Afleet is already closed for the season. I have mentioned in the past on this forum that I have a privately devised system for evaluating a stallion's breeding value and my system rates him as high as any stallion in the country and a world class turf sire as well. (I wonder how long it is going to take before this sire proves his turf prowess). He might be an excellent stallion to shuttle---- for those farms that believe in this practice. I have no problems predicting that this stallion will continue to outproduce other stallions--- even those in the 40-50K range. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see his stud fee hit 50K in the next two years. I get extremely good numbers on him, right up there with the stallions I like in the 40-50K stud fee range. I have no financial interest in this stallion but I do have a signed breeding contract to him for this season. One of a few tremendous values this year. The others being Montbrook, Eltish, West Acre, Meadow Monster, Distorted Humor, Grand Slam and Smoke Glacken to name a few.
best regards Brendan

Halo, you are very fortunate to have 3 of his foals already on the ground with 2 more on the way. I am sure you will make a very good return on your investment. I hope you plan to prep them for the 2 yr old in training sales, I know if I owned them that is what I would do with them. The extra time should be a major benefit towards their value---I wouldn't let them go early---especially if they are all well made individuals. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with them.
best regards Brendan
We have 3 on the farm already, none of which are mine. I have 2 of my own due in the next month, Im very excited about it. All 3 foals on the ground are extremely nice. I don't know what the owners plans are for them, but I do know we have a lot of people looking at them to buy them now. They are hot items, for sure.
