Azeri's First Foal Wins @ First Asking

Postby zinn21 » Wed Dec 30, 2009 3:16 pm

Take Control ridden by Martin Garcia broke well from the one hole, settled inside, remained in dead last to mid stretch. Found a opening at the eighth pole; came off the rail and under left handed urging rushed through and swallowed four horses in the last 100 yards to win going away..

Here's hoping he only moves forward from this. That was impressive!

He runs kinda lazy like his daddy.
It was like he was loping along and seemed annoyed by the jockey's urging until he went "OK then, geez!". LOL
Then he blew by them easily.
Here's hoping they do right by the young horse and he turns out to be a really good one.

It looked more like inexperience to me.

He actually showed a turn of foot like a grass horse..

Nobody annoyed with the jock who whacked him 7 times inside 2 seconds on his first start?

If that had happened over here he would have gotten a 30 day ban minimum and calls would have been made to permanently ban him from horse riding??????

I thought it was just what the horse needed.

Would love to smack you seven times inside of two seconds and see your response, this is exactly the kind of moronic use of the whip that gets all the do-no-gooders up in arms.

We have much kinder whips now. and I too thought the colt was green and maybe needed it to keep his momentum and focus. It's not like the jock has ever been known for being a finesse rider

The rider spanked him and the horse responded at a critical point in the race. I draw the moral line on whipping that delivers no positive racing response or inflicts physical damage-neither was the case in this instance.

Overhere, a jock which is using his or hers whip more than four times in the last straight (about 3 furlongs) will be punished with ban for two weeks first time out and each time it will be totalled up to a yrs ban due in time.

It differs if the jocks are coming from other countries in Europe, mostly seen with Arab racing than they will be fined with about 400 dollars first time in case of a five time using from the whip.

Severe use will result in a ban

whip

It should also be a ban in the U.S.

That kind of whip use kills more new fan's interest than anything else. Period.

Not to mention what it does to the horse. If that occured in a dog show, it would be national news.

Horses feel pain just like dogs or anything else, including people.
