STUD FEE

Anyone able to negotiate stud fee's in KY. Tried Arch, Sky Mesa, Pulpit, Rock Hard Ten, Dixie Union all Non-Negotiable.

Those are ones that are non-negotiable. In fact, you could consider yourself fortunate if you had a mare that could get into those books. You could try to locate a season holder who is not using their season and might move on the price. However, if I owned a season to one of these I wouldn't budge. I also heard elsewhere that those horses' books are all full for 2010.

The stallions that people really want to breed to--and all the ones you've mentioned qualify--are non-negotiable. The only stallions that farms are offering deals on are the ones that have "holes" and whose books aren't filling.

As Madelyn said, I know that 4 of those 5 stallions are already closed for 2010 anyway. The only one whose status I'm not sure of is Rock Hard Ten.

Arch isn't closed yet. Sams is still accepting mares that qualify as of two days ago. There was no mention of his book being close to full, so I can't imagine it filled up in 48 hours. But who knows. The decision making for that stallion is always a head scratcher.
