It became politically correct: Climate change.
The only thing you can be assured of is that it won't be what you expect!

Yesterday morning, when I woke up and saw the world was white (again) I thought the same. Nice to have to clean your place again before to go to work!
Tomorrow it will be february....
It has been 30 years ago, in 1979 we had about the same amount of snow. I hate it, wouldn't dream going on ski vacation!

Hey guys here in the great white north, canada (B.C.) were the winter olympics are in 2 weeks we are having the warmest winter on record! They are trucking in straw for the base and piling snow on top as there is not any snow at Cypress mountain. I don't mind we are riding in our outdoor areana, its weird though no snow mounds for the horses to play on. I have seen on tv the mess out east and it sucks. I think its only 50 days till spring! C.

I wonder what that silly little groundhog is going to see on Tuesday?
Here in the 'banana belt'-Southern Ontario-we've had some really cold temps (for us..LOL) -was about 2F when I left work last night at 11. Today was still cold, but now we've got the wind thrown in to make it feel even worse!
I wouldn't mind a little more snow, as we had our January thaw about 10 days ago, and now everything is icy and very difficult for the horses to get around on.
Oh, well, the joys of Canadian weather!

Actually, the most notable short term effect of global warming is expected to be more weather extremes. That means there's likely to be more and stronger hurricanes and typhoons, more droughts, more floods, etc. Many of the weather extremes may occur in unexpected places, like tornadoes occurring more often in places like the Northeast where they seldom occur or more frequent snowfall in the lower Mississippi Valley.
This is also an El Nino year, which modifies traditional weather patterns even more but I'm not exactly sure how.

Have you read State of Fear. Great book!
I was up in the (Texas) panhandle today & there are still HUGE drifts from the most recent storm. I don't recall, even in previous El Nino years, ever seeing snow 'stick' in Texas like it has this winter.
