Shame, shame, shame!!! Zenyatta risks ALL against 8 opponents in a Grade 1 race [once she is beaten she is no longer undefeated, become mere Champion of her Age while Rachel while goes in an ordinary stake race with 4 opponents and risks nothing. Yet her proponents still whine and moan she might not be ready yet because it actually rained in Lousiana. And because she had sense enough to come in out of the rain it means she's smart and shouldn't be penalized. Oh, and Zenyatta carries 127 pounds [giving at least 12 pounds to the field] and Mike Smith and Rachel carries 123 [giving 2 pounds to the field] and the super sportsman, not!, Calvin Borel. Oh, and they can't take away the HOY award for Rachel so if she fails, it must have been some undisclosed gnarly.

Who is risking what? Zenyatta or Rachel

i wouldnt worry to much....after today zenyatta will still be undefeated.......RA is going to have to work alittle....notice zenyatta's stable mate is in against RA.....going to ensure that RA wont have it too easy....oh she will most likely win but she will be taxed at some point.....setting her up for the train wreck that ZENYATTA will cause her to be in when they meet.......

I really don't understand the angst here. So what if Rachel's field is easier on paper. The fact of the matter is that she was OUT OF TRAINING for 6 months. She is short for this race and does have an excuse if she loses. Zenyatta has been training since she won the BC so she is a FIT HORSE. It would be a much bigger shock if she lost even though she is in a handicap.
She won't lose though. LOL.
No matter if Rachel wins or loses the biggest thing is that she gets some fitness out of this race to have her in top condition for the AB.
I am hoping both Zenyatta and Rachel have good preps for this event no matter where they finish.
The HOY debate is over, let's enjoy 2010.

Shirrefs ships his B team horse and whips the HOY... Now here comes the excuses.. In reality there was nothing in the race that should have been able to warm her up.

Are you people for real?Gloating over a champions loss because your favorite didn't win HOY last year?
Geez, the horse cam off a 6 month layoff, has only a handful of works and you expected her to romp?
I don't know what world you live in but in mine that just happens to the unfit.
She ran a great race and if all is well she will be very fit in her next start.

I believe you meant RA hasn't had a live race in 6 months. She certainly hasn't been out of training for 6 months.
Yes, Zenyatta was in an Inv. Hcp. and giving quite a bit of weight to her competitors. What was it, 6lbs between high and low weights in the NO Ladies?
