We are up on Mare Stare!

Postby TrueColours » Wed Mar 24, 2010 5:59 pm

I am VERY happy that I have everything sorted out from a technological point of view and my foaling cams are now connected to Mare Stare ... :)

The link is:

http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=truecolours

Scroll down to the True Colours Farm icon and click on it which will take you to the webcam in Pearlescent's stall

Looking at the camera angle, I know I have to change it tomorrow so that the entire stall is more visible, but this is going to have to do for tonight!

Please do let me know if you notice anything that I should be aware of. The numbers are posted on the Mare Stare website and believe me - I wont mind a phone call at all, if I happen to be sleeping through something I should be aware of! :)

Pearl is officially due on April 18th - today is Day 316 - but she looks like she may well go early so thats why I am starting foal watch this early with her. I would think in the next 7-10 days she will probably foal but we all know how sneaky mares can be!

Once Pearl foals, we'll switch to the camera in Puchi Trap's stall and foal watch will begin on her at that time (she is due on May 19th). Next year we'll have the 4 camera's hooked up and we'll be able to access them simultaneously instead of having to switch from one to the other

My bulletin board will also be up and operational on the Mare Stare website in the next day or so, and I'd love to have you drop in and post your comments as well!

So many thanks if any of you are able to peek in every once in awhile, especially during the times when it is nightfall over here ... :)

So that I can sleep when most sane people in this area are doing just that and nice people in far away places in different time zones can call me and tell me I need to go down to the barn ...

All kidding aside - JUST in case I dont have my eyes on the screen at any given time, its nice to know that others may be looking in and can alert me to something I might not be aware of

The more eyes the better! :)

Wonderful! I'm totally gonna watch like a hawk, even though I'm on foal watch myself!

I work early in the day and go to bed early, but my SO kept this up on the laptop till about 4am. Not a horse person, but I think he will notice if she goes into labor. I love marestare, what a great idea!

Mare is probably out enjoying some exercise etc. I read somewhere that 80% of mares foal between midnight and 6 A.M. so hopefully we don't miss anything :)

I put everyone outside around 7:30 am and they come in around 6:30 - 7:00 pm, weather permitting, so if you check in during those hours, all you are going to be seeing is an empty stall :)

I am going to be upgrading 2 of the camera's this year in Pearl and Puchi Trap's stalls and then will do the other 2 stalls next year. They will be colour, wide angle, infra red, low light with sound camera's that will allow me to see every nook and cranny in the stall so far better than what I have in place right now

So - bear with me for another week and hopefully I'll get them in before Pearl foals.
