Is anyone able to offer the "true details" ( by expanding on today's announcement ) that Franny, New York's finest since Funny Cide, simply was retired due to an ankle injury?

Yes, that is the announcement. But what are the detailed facts surrounding the condition of the filly?

It sounds like a suspensory injury. That serious stuff. Very few horses recover to race again. Most suspensory injuries require long term rehabilitation. I don't know what's next for her, but she's a pretty valuable mare, so putting her to stud might make sense for the owners.
Maybe someone in NY has more information.

Too bad she is a mare because if she was a stud that pedigree would be very nice for Rachel Alexandra.(Or if Rachel was a stud, you know what I mean). lol.
Anyways, double Sir Gaylord with Cure The Blues..
If she could go to the QH breeders there is a lot of Dash For Cash out there to be exploited.
She is inbred to Secretariat and traces to the same family underneath minus Sir Gaylord.
More Somethingroyal would be nice as well as Speedwell.
Does anyone here know of a current stallion sporting these lines? I don't have full access to the database right now.
I am thinking of a stallion with Cure The Blues and some Sir Gaylord lines(Sir Ivor, etc).
