What happened to Designed for Luck, anyone know?

Just wondering what happened to Designed for Luck, stallion out of Rahy, by Fantastic Look, winner of over 900,000. Did he ever retire or did something happen and he died? Would anyone know, couldn't find any articles on it/

three different sources are listing him as a gelding, not stud.
horse race nation has him as retired...
dec. 2005 was in hong kong getting scratched from the HK-1 for "some lameness, right hind"

I believe the horse bowed or had a suspensory, then a stem cell procedure was done. He did come back and race, but maybe the stem cell procedure didn't hold up.
I would think he's living the good life with his goat on a farm in CA.
