Congrats LSB!

Stanley Park came from off the shelf to win the San Luis Rey in good fashion. It was the biggest win of his career... I also think this solidifies him as the best or second best of the Swain's.

It also was a big win for LSB. LSB now owns Tricky Bird, Stanley Park's dam. A big, big congratulations go out to LSB! It has to be exciting to be in that position!

Hey KAL, thanks for noticing. That was such a thrill!

It's so nice to see this horse come back after a fifteen month lay-off for an injury he got in the Hollywood Derby in Nov. 2003. Kudos to his wonderful owners and his great trainer for their patience and persistance. And special thanks to Gary Stevens who gave him a perfect ride.

This is Stanley Park's second graded stakes win, his first Grade 2 and brings him to 250K in earnings. I'm still floating on air. :)

Thanks roving boy!

TBird is in foal to Carson City, due 4/30, and she's booked to Vindication.

Great good LSB... Have you considered a Stallion with more grass appeal given Stan's success

A fan of the Nijinsky/Storm Bird play? The Carson City should be timely, last crop and all. The Vindication could ride the swells of his two year old success (a gamble, but a hedged one considering the top quality mares he has received).

Best of luck to you!

Yes, most definitely. If something works well, I don't need to buck tradition. :)

We went that way with her in 2003, freddymo. Her yearling is a powerhouse filly by Street Cry. 8)

Have you had any serious offers to sell the filly?

Do you mean the Street Cry? If so, no. Nobody's even seen her. She's just sitting on the farm growing up. Unless something changes in the meantime, she'll probably go to the Keeneland sale in September.

Congrats, LSB. Thats a homerun in this business, to have a mare jump up and become a stakes producer. Friends of mine bought an Affirmed mare very cheap a year or two ago. Her End Sweep filly jumped up and won some very nice races this year. Her name is Alix M. They have gone from breeding to local horses to foalshare in KY with a top top stallion. Such is the fun in this business.

halo, Alix M won one of the Sunshine Millions races, didn't she? Nice mare.

ageecee, we had our first offer to sell the mare within 24 hours of buying her at Keeneland's Jan.'03 sale. We were offered 25% more than we'd paid the day before and turned it down. There have been a couple feelers extended since, also turned down. She is just such a nice, nice, mare both conformation and temperament-wise. I'd kind of hate it if someone made us an offer we couldn't refuse.

Thanks, FOS!
