Looks like a gray, says he's a bay

This horse, that was #6 in Race 7 at Beulah Park Mar 21 (I think he even got away from the outrider---twice).

Odd for a bay.

He had a white flag at the end of his tail, and with white spots looked practically pinto---unless that was lather from having to be ridden down twice.

Wish I could find a picture of him to see what you all think!

For a horse to be gray, he must have at least one gray parent. This horse's sire and dam are both bay.

Either I have the wrong horse, he was really lathered up, or something's missing.

The only thing I'm sure of at this point is my ability to mess things up.

This case looks more like an equine who developed a rash and was being treated with "Desitin" cream than any other thing. Would really like to be wrong on this one.

Looks pretty common bay to me. He's heavily lathered, on his neck, under his saddle cloth, behind the saddle, and across his hindquarteres from the pads on the starting gate. If he got away twice from the pony, he's likely high strung anyhow and sweated out of nerves, and if he took off, he's probab;y sweaty.
Nice run from him if either way.

Thank you SO much for finding that replay! I looked---couldn't get a replay myself.

Yup, I didn't get the wrong horse. But my TV screen is teeny. Rabicano? I wasn't hallucinating those odd marks.

Here it looks indeed like he might be lathered. I never saw him before. Now that I know he runs at Beulah I'll watch for him. :lol:

Remember that I'm the person who thought I'd discovered a whole new 'species' of horse the first time I saw one with a clip. "Ooo, a two-tone horse!' :lol:

Sailor, try to see him when he first comes into the paddock without a saddle. That way you can judge his colour BEFORE he gets all lathered up!

So yeah.

I saw Manhassett Indian in a post parade today, Race 3, Beulah Park.

Completely normal bay. In that previous race, he was lathering like dish soap. :oops:

Nice win! I like him, plain bay or not.
He was still pretty washed out it looked, though no where near as bad as his last start.
