He was not trained to run that far. I'm glad he isn't hurt or ailing.

From what I have read he is doing good, real good. Hopefully he stays that way. I don't know if he was over trained or under trained. Maybe you could help determine which one by using your definitions:
What do ya think, over trained or under trained . . .
I would call "overtraining" putting in so much work on a horse that racing performance is affected, such as so much slow work leaves a horse without the sharpness to be competitive in a sprint.
I call it "undertraining" when a horse rarely moves faster than a canter, and then breaks down in a fast work or a race after spending most of its time with its legs swathed in bandages.
What do ya think, over trained or under trained . . .

Pletcher practices undertraining. This is not a secret.

Maybe this is just the pessimist in me, but it sounds like a path is being made for mo to pass the derby. the end of the quote pletcher says if he isn't 100% he isn't going to run. I just get the feeling that 2 weeks from now, he's not going to be 100% and is going to pass the derby. But also keep in mind, i said the other day I don't think he was going to run anyway, so I am bias.
and maybe that is what happened, if it is i hope we see what mo can do soon. I just personally don't buy it. This is what pletcher does. If you take issue with that point of view, i'm sorry to have offended you.

100% agree...lets all face the facts

I think this is an attempt to protect his value as a future stallion.

I get that same feeling when reading the article. But I also get the hankerin' Pletcher may be providing full disclosure to avoid the same problems he had with running Life at Ten. I'd like to seen Uncle Mo' run for for all three, if he doesn't, so be it, totally the nature of the Game - unforgiving, kinda like War. If Dialed In doesn't get a work over the surface I figure I may count him out too! That would really open this thing up and give the others a greater chance to win. I've still got the futures on Soldat, might be his turn with some racing luck!
With respect to offending others when you express your point of view - what they think about you shouldn't concern you - say what you need to say.

JMO but there is nothing about UNCLE MO that says that he can't make the classic distances. He only "showed" in the Wood and all the "chicken little handicappers" of the world, are making flight to the unknown colt that won the Wood or down the feed chain for other considerations. There is nothing about Todd Pletcher that says he is a liar and that he is backing off the colt by masking problems. As far as I can see UNCLE MO is the only horse he has got that has the class to win the KD. Maybe the Blue Grass will change that. Who knows.
Considering the debacle of EIGHT BELLES any owner or trainer that says anything other than "we'll only run the horse if it is 100%" is either crazy or stupid or both. Nobody wants their horse to be the next EIGHT BELLES or BARBARO. Nobdody. They'lll run the colt if he is 100%. That's all they are saying. I don't see how anyone can read anymore into their statements than that. I predict MO starts in the KD. This is the period of time when injuries drop the most horses from the KD trail. A mild GI problem is probably nothing more than that. I figured it was an environs change that slowed MO, but a GI infection sounds reasonable.
Apparently, they are looking to put the colt on a regimen of antibiotics, normally 3 to 7 days, and train him lightly for a week and see where that takes them. Sounds like a plan to me.
If MO's trainer was Rick Dutrow, then I'd be thinking "liar liar pants on fire." Fortunately, the KYRC has taken that problem out of the mix. It would be ashame for MO not to run if he is healthly and fit.
