Ferocious Won

In the 6th @ Aqueduct today number 4X, in the slop---I THOUGHT I 'spotted' something unusual on this fella the first time I saw him run.

Sure 'nuff.

The chart even mentions the spot. There's supposed to be a pic of the horse but all I can see is the Dread Red X.

PS: He hung on for 3rd, I think....

Looks like a somatic mutation. Similar to Spotmetothewire's.

Someday I'll contact Spotmetothewire's owners and see about a hair sample.

Going to have to find Spotmetothewire's new owner, she's been for sale for a little while now.

spot's spot

Postby framed » Sun Apr 24, 2011 3:44 pm

....yes, she does post here on rare occaision. What tests would you be interested in on her hair sample? The dear girl is ready to foal any day now. We're counting down......She's HUGE....
Yes, oddly, she does seem to have an "oops" spot, and also has a few small roan patches. She has a half sibling by the same sire named Silver Patch, who is a splashy sabino with white up the legs and his sides. ACC, I think you posted a photo of him once....

I did and I got hair from him, which is why I'm interested in hair from her. I'm collecting whatever I can from this family to see if I can eventually explain their unusual white. I think they may have a white mutation.
