I guess this is what it's all about.
Tough to know for sure who is gonna win it this year - it looks to be wide open. I do have my reasons for picking Midnight Interlude. He can carry the weight, he has the highest cruising speed, has the fastest third fraction and has the most total energy - doesn't mean he is gonna win. He never raced at two and that is a tough statistic to buck. I like how he ran in the Santa Anita Deby and if he can run back to that one, he should be tough.
We'll see come Saturday.
Midnight Interlude - Win
MuchoMachoMan - Place
Calvin Borel - Show
Best of racing luck - I hope your horse gets a clean trip!

at this moment, and things can change before post time my top 4 is
Nehro
Midnight Interlude
Stay Thirsty
Archarcharch
Borel will pass some tired ones, but won't crack to top 10. I can't believe how much stake people are putting in the rider. The horse has to carry him & he aint on much horse (by Derby standards).

All you ever have to do is watch the rides on Street Sense, Mind That Bird and Super Saver to understand why some people believe the jockey really matters in the Kentucky Derby, not too many chances to run mile and a quarter races, just ask Pat Day, he owned Churchill Downs, but he only won one Kentucky Derby in over 20 rides. Calvin is worth a hedge bet in the Kentucky Derby anytime.
