Looking for Broodmare (KY)

Postby GoForRags » Mon May 23, 2011 2:29 pm

Hi-

I'm looking for one more broodmare to add to our band, to breed to my stallion.

I know the market is bad right now and I should be able to find a nice mare for free.
Located in KY, excellent references. Mare would have a great home with great care.
I know it's late in the season but since I race and train myself, I don't mind a late baby.

My stallion is an outcross, so looking for a mare with Stormcat, Mr. P, Northern Dancer, Seattle Slew (any or all of them in the pedigree would be great).

Would also consider a free lease to a mare, if she has a foal by her side. We have a May baby here who would love a playmate (instead of the mares and humans). Would care for both mare and foal free of charge in exchange for a breeding to my stallion, in other words, a free lease on her to breed.

Open to options, if you have any ideas, feel free to contact me please.

Not looking to buy a mare, unless it's an outstanding, proven blacktype producer. Have 4 mares here who were all free to good home, incl. a stakes producer.

Please email goforrags@ yahoo.com or call 502-417-ninefivethreefour

Thanks!

Hi Madelyn-

We've spoken a couple of times a few years ago, have mutual friends.

My boy is Hey Poquita. Meadowlake x Klassy Briefcase. Klassy set several turf records, incl. World record.
"Doodle" won maiden at first asking MSW. Horse that ran second to him (he won by 7+ lengths) became a stakes horse.
Suffered injury to hoof and coffin joint infections and laminitis for a year while still running. Barely out of money in one stakes and couple allowance races.
He is a big boned, very correct boy. Super disposition. KTDF nominated. Stands free to racemares. His first foal was born May 12, very nice filly.

Know of any available mares?

Tre

I remember Klassy Briefcase. Nice mare. Fast as can be...she was pretty much unbeatable at MTH if I remember correctly.

Good luck with your stallion.

You do remember her correctly, how nice! She's not well known around these parts. She is actually retired over at Old Friends.

Thanks for your comments.

here's one to try: http://www.equinenow.com/horse-ad-432219

and her Jan 10 catalog page: https://secure.keeneland.com/sales/jan10/pdfs/1275.pdf

By Purge and out of a stakes winner (albeit fairly minor)
