One of the tough English throrougbreds just like his dad Busted. The NH world will have their heritage.

This is one of the few active branches left that descends from Blandford in sire line. He was one of the best sires of his time. Vieux Manoir descends directly from him through Brantome.

Does anyone know of any other direct line Blandford stallions out there? I'm assuming that the Busted line is still going, even with the deluge of No. Dancers in English/Irish racing. But what about Umidwar or Brantome?

Hello,
here in Germany another branch still exists
from Blandford via Bahram - Persian Gulf - Tamerlane - Dschingis Kahn - Konigsstuhl - Monsun and his sons.

Regards, Bettina

Thanks, Bettina. I'd forgotten about Monsun. Since this is one of the greatest sirelines currently in the world, one would hope that Blandford will continue to affect TB performance for generations yet to come.

IMO, Blandford is the single greatest line currently producing males that produces jumping and sport TBs. I hadn't realized how many Monsuns jump raced until I looked him up on France Galop. Blandford's daughters were equally good for that.
