Has anyone seen Bernstein? A friend of mine thought about using him last year and instead went to Vision and Verse, which is looking more and more like a mistake, because Bernstein seems to be on fire! This weekend alone, he had a graded stakes winner at SA on the turf (Berbatim), a minor stakes winner on the dirt at Tampa (Bernie Blue), and a Group 1 winner in Argentina (Stormy Nina). Stormy Nina is the second group 1 winner from his first SH crop. He also has the GSW Toll Taker and minor stakes winner Claymont, in addition to the nice filly Rugula. They seem to be doing well both on the dirt and on the turf.
I would appreciate any thoughts on this guy.
thanks!

I havent seen him in person, but if there's one line of La Troienne that I would consider the best stallion producer, its the Busanda line and he's hails from it. For his price, he's proving to be a very good bargain.
On a side note, his success is making Sky Mesa look like a possible monster stallion in the making!

Hi Ef, LSB and Henthorn,
Bernstein I did not see in person myself, but from the Buckpasserline we had an American stallion Man in the Moon who did marvellous in our country Holland, he was many times champion an champion broodmare sire.
About the description Henthorn you gave, it sounds so familiar! Man in the Moon had also ''slight toe out left'', something a lot of his offspring inherrited, but it didn't prevent them from running fast. Do any of you know if that runs in the family of Busanda?
Regards,

Sorry, Margreet, I wasn't the poster who witnessed Bernstein. But the owner of millionaire turf mare Bien Nicole is very knowledgable, and he bred her to Bernstein last year with intention of raising a home-bred. And he doesn't breed to any stallion without fully evaluating him first. So he must have been impressed by not only the pedigree matchup, but also the stallion in person. I believe her foal is due this month or next month.
