GIANTS CAUSEWAY OR TAPIT
TAPIT or GIANTS CAUSEWAY

who has the better chance of winning the general stallion leadership this
year and why?

Please include your objective rationale.

Hey this battle looks very very interesting!

I'd say Tapit will be the leading sire of 2011. For Breeders Cup days he has a few more horses with better option to win that GC.

IMHO it's going to come down to the breeders cup

for giants causeway to have a chance to take the title Creative Cause has to win the BC Juvenille which I do think he will do but he still has to do it.

Also Zazu in the Breeders Cup Ladies Classic has a very good chance, through her last race over that track was not very flattering.

It would seriously help tapit if trappe shot won the BC sprint.

Also GC has alot of Japanese horses and they run for stupid high purses over there.

If i had to wager on it, i'd go with Giants causeway because 1. he already is winning and 2. I like Creative Cause to win his BC race more than I like Zazu or Trappe shot to win theirs and 3. the japanese money

After the Breeder's Cup races, it is Distorted Humor who will be on top of the sire list. It is close for secong between Tapit and Giant's Causaway, if my unreliable figures hold.

TAPIZAR also earned 5th place earnings for TAPIT in the Breeders Cup.
HANSEN won the 2-million BC Juvenile.

CREATIVE CAUSE claimed 3rd place earnings for GIANT'S CAUSEWAY.

SMART STRIKE is also gaining some ground.

Interesting!

The Thoroughbred Times Sire List has today Distorted Humor 1st, Giant's Causaway 2nd, Tapit 3rd and Smart Strike 4th.
The list from the Blood Horse is different, because they do not count earnings in Japan or Hong Kong.

Surprisingly, Distorted Humor now leads, albeit, today, Giant's Causeway and Tapit are much more closer between themselves. Seems like a good thing for Tapit but since now he is on third position rather than in second place the pendulum of probabilities now is slowly drifting away from him. Mathematically speaking he has a chance but from a (let's call it) "moral" perspective he has seriously compromised his chances.
