Best website to advertise stallion prospects?

Postby Jessi P » Sun Jun 10, 2012 5:45 pm

Just as the title says - what are the best websites for advertising stallion prospects? Where do people who stand stallions shop for them?

A trainer at the track has a couple stallion prospects he wants to sell and I am not sure where to advertise them for him, other than the usual places - here, equinenow.com, dreamhorse.com, CANTER, etc. There HAS to be a website that showcases breeding stock, right?

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Thanks! It looks as though it costs $160 to advertise one horse on that site. I am not sure what price range he has in mind for selling his prospects. I will make sure to pass along the information.

I think also a classified ad in the back of the Thoroughbred Times is not too expensive and hits a lot of horsepeople with no computer skills.

Internationally and mainstream TB racing folks I have found, have checked equinenow.com since they first started listings, that's when I dropped equine.com and took all mine to equinenow.com, I started selling like crazy. Many countries watch equinenow, not just the US and Canada. For $25.95 you get 9 photos, top of the pile/front page, and video, it is the only place IMO, without spending big bucks on smaller sites that don't get noticed.

Chronicle of the Horse might be worth a look esp. for a stallion that would be regional and possibly good for sport horses.
