Nope....Z's winning is far more intrique in her unique nail-biting style...Z zeroed in with 100 yards or so left...each time her grandstand fans would desperately catch back the tickets as soon as they had thrown up in the air.

Very interesting to see what happens in the months to come. I read that she, like Zenny, is just starting to run later in the 3 year old year, which I am totally for.

One thing though, she is the color of her sire, Bernardini, whereas Zenyata took more the color of both parents. PedInq. has her listed as BLK! We all know how hard it is to get a blk TB listed. Even Devil His Due, who is extremely pure dark black, has got a dk b/b rating. I need Sunday Silence on this and will take it to the color corner.

Also does anyone know how tall Ebby is? I don't think she's as big as Zenyatta, but by the recent photo of her on her facebook, she has the big thick chest and shoulders. thanks all!

She is registered with the Jockey Club as Dark Bay/Brown, not Black.

I finally got to see the race and I thought, although she was back, that she broke better and was closer to the pace than Zenyatta ran.

as i stated in the other thread she reminds me more of the other sister balance, than she does Z. it's not like balance was chopped liver or anything.

Why in the world would they name their horse Balance? Talk about some strange-o names for horses. I do remember watching her run though and agree that Ebby is more like B. There can only be one Zenyatta

oh that is terrible! why does the JC let these crazy names go through, yet are so tough on 'regular' names? I remember when I first started reading this forum someone had brought up that some lady actually named her racehorse "Iams Bound" ! Now why would the JC allow that? I hope to God nothing bad happened to that horse, he sure did not have a good owner, IMHO.

Does anyone know if you can put a name on "lay-away" for lack of better terms? Anyone ever done that? I've got a great name and by the time I will need to use it, someone else will think of it

thanks

Thank you for posting that. In that photo, you can really see that she is a dark brown like Bernardini as opposed to pure black as some say she is. Still a gorgeous girl! And also it says optional claiming? There's no way her owner would let her go, would he? Or is that if you want to put a claim on some and not on others? :?:
