After a YEAR of struggling through EPM, a saucer fracture on a hind cannon, and dealing with insulin resistance which I believe that type of horse takes four times longer to build solid muscles fueled for racing, I finally got this fellow into racing shape. He got 3rd on Friday night at Turfway in the first race, and it was a really good race! It was only his fifth start and his first race was just in January this year. He's my last Rocking Trick foal here. This one has a bit of speed!
Naturally we were specialled and sent to the test barn. It's my third special this year. I think they like me!

Congratulations! (except for the test barn part...)
Re: Prince of Spades
I see the humor in how special I am. I have a gal pal out at High Pointe who also gets specialled a lot. We are natural foods trainers both and we say BRING IT.

Re: Prince of Spades
This Friday night the 10th race at Turfway. I kicked the bug to the curb after the last ride where he HAULED on him at the 3/4 he broke stride and did not recover. I went with Perry Ouzts for experience over the weight allowance.

Re: Prince of Spades
Ok so another third. But we beat Mike Maker's horse and 8 others in a full field a coupla days before the end of the meet with a new rider. It was a nice way for me to wrap up the meet. I bumped up a bit in class too.

It's a check! Congratulations!
Re: Prince of Spades
Nice job, 3rd place not bad at all. Good for you, getting your homebreds to the track.
Re: Prince of Spades
the Prince got his win check on Friday July 1st in the 2nd at Belterra. It was a hot 3-way stretch duel, a real nail-biter.
Along with him I've been training a little red horse with a long tale of adventures that I foaled out, had till 9 mos old, got back as a 2 year old it cost me $$$ for his papers. I named him Musica Con Brio. He got his first win in the 8th yesterday at Belterra. Two wins in a row for my two horse stable.
