Got a new horse! Check him out!

Postby Jenarby » Wed May 18, 2005 7:19 pm

I've been waiting for this guy to retire since October. I never imagined I'd actually get him. His name is "My Turf Hero" (for anyone who wants to check out his pedigree). We call him, "Charlie." He's a little over 16.2 hands and is 6 years old. He's probably the biggest moving horse I've ever owned. I'm THRILLED! Hoping to one day event him. Right now he's just hanging out being a horse again and learning some ground work.

What do you think?

Nice horse, good of you to rescue one. Just curious, is he a gelding? :)

Final Voyage,
Yep, he's a gelding. Has the neck and jowls of a stud though doesn't he?

And just to clarify....he wasn't a rescue. He was in a good home before I got him. I was just lucky enough to have known the trainer and had been bugging him to let me know when this guy was ready to retire.
If I hadn't, the trainer would have found him a good home.

Wow Jen, *very* nice and some serious extension at the trot - nice ground covering mover!! :)

His overall appearance is balanced and he's got a beautiful neck on him. Very nice fella!! My best for a successful off track career!!

What's the latest on Boy Genius? I follow him too (I have Mac's Ghost, offspring of Beau Genius). That horse has had a long campaign and *really* deserves a wonderful retirement!!

Sure you don't want to try him out in dressage? :D
He's got a beautiful look to him, and with that trot, seems like he'd take to it quite well! He'd get the judge's attention for sure!

Congrats on your new guy! Thanks for sharing the photos!!

Actually I'm not sure. He's run a few times this year and not done real well. I've bugged the trainer a few times to keep me posted. Would LOVE to get him into the TRF of have one of my friends retire him. He definitely deserves it. What an awesome guy he is!

Got a new horse

He,s looking something very nice. If he should like jumping, he would be
a good eventing prospect, stealing points in dressage at first hand.
For a nice future to both of you.

He has that nice topline and neck that many TB owners just dream of, plus he appears to know how to use it. I can see why you sought him out.
