hello to everyone

Hi everyone
I just signed up today - great to see so many racing enthusiasts on the one forum. I'm a hobby breeder in Queensland, Australia and have been involved in racing for a numbr of years. Are the majority of forum members interested in racing/breeding?
Regards

Welcome Dorsey: I am a fan of racing and breeding, TB nutrition, and pedigree research.

What are your interest in the field of TB?

I'm interested in breeding for racing. I study pedigrees and i'd like to learn more on Pedigree dosage. I have listed details of two mares that i have who are in foal looking for opinions on the offspring(breeding advice forum) Up till a few years ago, i owned and managed an equestrian centre, coaching dressage and jumping, and offerred stabling for 50 horses. I currently have interests in some young eternity Range 2yos and am looking at a Latarmis colt who turns 2 this year.

Welcome, Dorsy. You'll find lots of perspectives on the forum for mostly race pedigrees, but also occasionally for other sports as well. Most of the posts involve racing pedigrees, and less so for race discussion, horse care, sales, etc. It's a very cosmopolitan group, representing most US states, Canadian provinces, several from Europe, South America, Mexico, the Antipodes, and occasionally from Asia.

As you will find, dosage is mostly disregarded by members of the forum as being inadequate and subjective, but some believe it helps them in handicapping the races or determining distance affinities.

As you find topics of interest, you can research unfamiliar terms via the SEARCH icon at the top. The topics go back about a year. There is also an old pedigree website that was discontinued last year that can be searched for ideas. Each of us has a PM (private message) icon in our posts that can be used to have private conversations as well.

Welcome, Dorsy! I didn't make it to Queensland - NSW (Sydney, Melbourne and Dubbo) and NT (Red Centre). That was a year and a half ago. Loved it.

I'm another dressage person, but was neck-deep in TB breeding for several years, so it's in my blood whether I like it or not. ;)

Cheers, mate!

Welcome aboard! My interests are in the area of pedigrees and racing history, and within the TB industry I'm a freelance writer and book author (working on #2 at present) when not distracted by my day job as a mental health counselor in the state prison system.

Welcome! You must also know where to find an excellent Queensland Heeler-One of my other favorite animals.

Hi Dorsy, welcome to the forum.
In my natal country, Venezuela (South America), I was an Equine Practitioner, and worked in the main race track of my country more than 10 years. I like to learn about pedigree. I have three years in U.S., right now working with one of the main farm in California area.
