Ran three times, held together by sticky tape, would anyone risk breeding from him.

Just wait til they unleash his marketing campaign. "How good was he?".. "One of the best of his generation"... "Broke his maiden earning a *** Beyer.... " "A pedigree for the ages"..... "A genetic masterpiece".. you have to wear muck boots just to read this "stuff" anymore.

I now know what is being taught at these Universities offering degrees in horseracing.

With few exceptions any stallion that couldn't hold up to at least 10 starts has red flags everwhere and these infirmities will most likely be passed on to the next generation. Yes, there have been great stalllions that only raced a handful of times but generation upon generation built upon such weakness has lead to where we are today.

since he is a G1 winner I am sure he will be VERY popular...
Where is he going to be standing?

I cant see him that popular in the US due to the turf breeding... (Broodmare Sire is Rainbow Quest a VERY long distance turf sire)

I am not saying that I would breed to him, but it seems to be just because he won a G1 that tons of people will send mares to him...

He obiviously did have some talent.. I am not familiar with him- why was he held together with sticky tape??

The proverbial "foot problems" . . . . . . . . what ever that means.

Sheikh say that he was held together with sticky tape!! They must have done a good job Sheikh. He was unbeaten in the three starts that he had! Tell me a better horse that had three starts only for his record.

I'm totally disinclined :? I simply hate top three year old colt retired in June... why they don't try to bring him back? He showed too too little... Nobody can say how good or bad he was! Well, he's unbeaten, but it tells you nothing... he has million dollar pedigree, but thousand of horses have the same quality pedigree... Guineas were good, very good race, but still you can't say he's best colt...
I'm just writing report from Royal Ascot, and one thing I like is that wonderful mares stay in training as long as possible. What a stupid trend is it to get young colts to stud as soon as possible??? A bit illogical, at least... Just hate it and personally - I wouldn't sent a mare to him. Never in my life, until he proves he's worth it with mares of other breeders :?

It does seem a bit backwards, doesn't it?

You only get, if you're lucky, 15 foals from a mare in her lifetime. You can get over a 1000 from a stallion.

But we'll send a mediocre stallion to stud at 3 and keep a really good mare running until she's 6.

This industry is far too patriarchal and illogical at times.

And they are lining up to breed to Tribal Rule  With people on this board recommending him   And he's out of a mare who produced 3 by Storm Cat and none of them made over 5 starts or made over $78k. His dam's only foal that ran more than 6 times was by Never Tabled, a durable CA sire. Wait a second...is this horse owned by Wygod????

What are the statistics on Storm Cat's progeny making over 10 starts? Anybody????

Danzig!, Eastern Echo! And they both passed on their "soundness issues" in the breeding shed...as good as they were.

If my memory is still functioning, Nureyev also ran only three times and would have been unbeaten but for a DQ in the 2000 Guineas.

Eastern Echo was a Gr1 winner, but Danzig was a winner of two allowances and a maiden. Both not in the same class if you ask me. Mind you, I wouldn't mind something half as good as Danzig in the barn.

hi Mike

You ask "Tell me a better horse that had three starts only for his record?"

How about Meadowlake...he was truly a MONSTER...and could (and did) win by a city block (okay maybe half a city block)...and was a G1 winner to boot.

Best to you.

Respectfully

He will be standing at Coolmore here in Australia for $27500 Aus- replacing Giants Causeway on this year's roster.
