Giant's Causeway WILL NOT Shuttle to Australia this Year

Postby horsenuts » Thu Jun 23, 2005 10:53 am

Over on the Blood Horse an article covering this subject is up. Says "he deserves a rest". Anyone care to interpret. Viagra can no longer get him up?.. pecker's limp as a dishrag from overuse?.... contracted STD from hundreds of multiple partners?....... neuroligical damage from standing on hind legs day-in-day-out?...

A lead stallion in the wild services how many mares in a year?

Too funny- I always think it is hilarious that as soon as a stallion does well- DANEHILL - MONTJEU - GIANT'S CAUSEWAY to name a few they stop shuttling- but there aren't any additional risks until they are brilliant???? :?

Is it possible for ANY stallion not to do well when being bred to that # of top mares? I'd say it would be much harder to fail than succeed under such a scenario.

And what they call a "successful" stallion today is very debatable. A couple of top horses out of 200 foals by some of the world's best brood stock is considered "successful"? Not in my book.

Exactly- thats why I absolutely ROLL ON THE FLOOR when they fail- how many G.1 performers/producers did GC be bred too? Year in year out it happens and as you said GC has had 3 greats from ?XXX? foals? Ridiculous.

When a super stud breeds to 350 mares per year, somebody is cheating, as AI is sneaking in the back door.

Why break those stallions down trying to service that many mares when you can cheat and use AI.

Whos to look over their shoulders and catch these equine cheaters.
Those without sin cast the first stone.
