Footnotes
SHEIKHS DYNASTY hustled and stalked TAHOE JOE to mid turn, dueled while between foes entering the stretch, edged clear near the furlong marker, lasted under severe pressure to the wire. DUE HIS RANK was bumped leaving the gate by RIMSHOT G. settled in second flight, asked near the 1/4 pole, angled out six wide top of the lane, hit stride mid stretch and finished fast to just miss in a very hard effort. COLTONS FIRST STEP showed good early speed, dueled while widest from mid turn to mid stretch, was out gamed in the final sixteenth under an all out drive, game try. STRIKEMDOWN well placed to track a contested duel, put to a drive into the lane, loomed in mid stretch, raced hard but needed more at the finish. PRIVATE HERB hustled and raced up close along the rail, angled out 4 wide entering the stretch, was hard ridden but lacked late kick. RIMSHOT G. swerved in and bumped DUE HIS RANK at the start, rushed mid turn to reach contention, angled out and loomed just off the pace setters in upper stretch, leveled off in the drive. DECOY DAN lacked speed, raced towards the inside on the turn, roused near the 1/4 pole, angled to mount rally, did close some ground but was no factor. TAHOE JOE sent hard, set a pressured early pace, was involved in a three way battle from mid turn to top of the stretch, shortened stride at the eighth pole. PALLISTER PARK raced evenly and off the rail, asked for more, gave no response in the drive. FARONTHEMOUNTAIN was slow early, raced wide on the turn, rouse at the 3/8 pole, lacked response and dropped off top of the lane.

Nice, especially this part, " lasted under severe pressure to the wire!" Speed, stamina, character - sounds like a real racehorse.

So when are you raising the stud fee?

Congratulations! It's nice to have something good happen after the loss of your filly.

Kari: You took the challenge and bred 1 mare to your stallion, and the result was positive.

Breed more mares to your stallion and you will be rewarded.

If more breeders would breed mares too those stallions that are well bred but were not major SW, they will find out if they will make it as stallions.

Many stallions that were major SW fail in the breeding shed when bred to those high quality mares.
Those without sin cast the first stone.

Congrats! That's a fantastic achievement.

And amen to what Louis said. It's true, a stallion does not have to be major SW to be able to have runners. Often the best stallions were decent racehorse, but not especially great horses. Just as it is true that many multiple graded stakes winners go to the shed with the greatest expectations on their backs and just disappoint.

There are also plenty that would get better horses if only more decent mares were sent to them.

But congrats again. You must be so proud.

Kari - COGRATS!!! - How VERY exciting for you and you do deserve some good news. I happened to see that race last night while at the local track - he ran a very tough race to have that win. I was impressed with his effort from between foes and his toughness at the wire - pretty good stuff in a 2x out 2YO! (Ended up not betting that race but mentioned that I thought his name sounded familiar to my friends, then said 'why would I know the name of this 2YO at Mountaineer????' I couldn't place where I'd heard of him before......sure wish I'd taken an accross the board flyer on that 'premonition' last night - He PAID GREAT!)

Dang, the trifecta paid more than the race! Congrats! I hope to have similar news three years from now for Rocking Trick and Bad Boy Atta.... you know I have long held the theory that a racehorse doesn't really know who his daddy was or how much was paid for the studfee.. you don't see them in the paddock comparing notes.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
