Forgot all about this thread on American Mud I started.
The lazy bugger finally broke his maiden today on his 14th try. A 10k claimer at Canterbury Park. Sure hope it doesn't take another 14 starts to get his second win!
Mud had to work hard to earn this win. He hooked up with the pace setter at the top of the stretch and dueled all the way to the wire to prevail by a short head. Might have been good for him to have to work for this win, as he usually plods through most of the race before picking off the stragglers to sneak on the board.

Mud is in the 10th at Canterbury today. 7.5k claimer. Mile and 70 yards. He is finally starting to figure out this game of racing. In his last race, 1st against winners, He just about about ran his eyeballs out trying to catch the eventual winner. Settling again for a second. Reckon one can't complain of a horse that has hit the board in 11 of 15 starts.
