The moral to this story is never give up, as only the strong survive.

The underdog always comes to the table hungry and cleans his plate.

All of my life I have been writing in my mental notes stories that would make a great movie that would have family values.
Those without sin cast the first stone.

I got an email from a Thoroughbred Times staff writer asking how to contact Lucy.

Maybe this will get some general media attntion. I still think it would make a great "made for TV" movie.

If they do make it into a movie, or even an article I hope they include the 6 "lost" mares and the person who shall not be named. I would really love to see him punished for what he did. So far the only repercusion is Nick Zito's resignation from the board of directors over the issue. I thought he would be grilled as to why he resigned and the story would become public, but it seem that no one noticed he left.

The horse that beat Totally Selfish last Wednesday [09/07/05] was a $130k stakes winning Unbridled Song daughter. They were head-to-head until the last one-sixthenth.

So Lucy's $950 meat horse placed second behind a $130,000 stakes winner.

Griff,

I really appreciated reading your piece on Lucy's "Meat Horse." What a great story! ...and it WOULD make an excellent Movie of the Week! In my career as an actor, I have played mostly bad guys http://imdb.com/name/nm0950306/ , so I suppose I'd likely be cast as the evil Horse Meat Vendor or Slaughter House Guy. (yikes!!!)

The discussion among forum members here at Pedigree Query Forum, gives me hope that there are many good folks on the internet that have an interest in saving horses and putting an end to slaughter in the US.
I hope that you folks will participate in this year's Breeders' Cup Benefit for the Exceller Fund. I know we can make a difference!

The BC is fast approaching and I'd like to make sure that Pedigree Query Forum is represented in the Handicappers Helping Horses effort. Therefore, I would like to invite you, Griff, to lead a Pedigree Query Forum BC Benefit team to victory. I will lay the $24 wager on behalf of your team ($1 four horse Tri Box), and we'll send the proceeds to the Exceller Fund.

I like this forum... and from what I've read, I believe the folks at Pedigree Query are more than capable of putting together a winning ticket for the BC Benefit! Also, if the folks at PQ wish to put a few more teams together, that would be wonderful... but I'd like to make sure that we have at least one entry from your group. So there it is... Griff and 3 other players from Pedigree Query Forum are invited to field team for the BC Classic. Put your team together and I'll make the play for charity... :)
May your next wager be a winning one!

I'm really not your man for the Handicappers Helping Horse effort. I grew up on a farm and to me horses are livestock just like cows, sheep, goats, pigs, ect. My charity contributions go to agencies that are dedicated to helping people, not livestock.

There are many other members of this site that would do a bang up job for you and I recommedn you ask for volunteers.

I like Lucy and respect her desire to save horses but I am mostly impressed with her ability to take a throw away and turn it into a winning allowance horse.
