Just bought my first TB!
After having Arabs, currently have Paints, I have gone off and bought a nice Thoroughbred mare. Not knowing a heck of alot about some of the horses in her pedigree, I was wondering if someone wanted to take a look at it and check out her breeding. Also trying to get a little more info on Ole Bob Bowers, but can't seem to find much on the internet other than he was bad-tempered.
My mare is Ms Saint, and she is on the database here: http://www.pedigreequery.com/ms+saint
So, did I make a good buy?

Actually, she has a pretty decent female family, with some stakes horses. Her dam was graded stakes placed. The family looks like it was nicely managed in a regional program. I don't know about Monetary Gift as a broodmare sire, though, but this mare is better than some I have seen who have pretty blank pages....
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Hello Gayle,
Congrats with your new mare. I can tel you I have lots of memories about my elderly chief editor writing stories about that famous John Henry out of a rather undistinguised sire Ole bob bowers, yes even in Europe we heard from him in that time without internet of course!! Lots of luck with her.
