.....but I've been lurking for over a year. I would like to thank you all for the informative contributions at this site. There seems to be a wealth of knowledge here, and I thank you for sharing.

I'm not directly involved in the sport, but I have had an interest (passion?) for the animals and their bloodlines from a young age. Thanks to the internet, I can spend a lot (did I mention a LOT) of time on my favorite hobby, studying pedigrees.

I live near, and work in Lexington. I'm really thankful to get to drive by fields of thoroughbreds on my daily commute, and usually capture an image that sticks with me all day.

I look forward to conversing.

Happy Holidays! :D

hi Colonel

WELCOME to ya :D ...

...as part of your first post you wrote "I'm really thankful to get to drive by fields of thoroughbreds on my daily commute, and usually capture an image that sticks with me all day" (your words). Thanks for sharing your thoughts...as far as I'm concerned, they conjur up some beautiful images.

And by the way...you referenced (with a ?-question mark) your "interest (passion?)" for the breed. Sounds to me that you definitely have a passion not just an interest...and I recommend that you strongly consider deleting the ?-question mark. Your words seem to expose your passion.

Best to you.

Hi Colonel,

Welcome aboard! Ownership is definitely not a prerequisite for being a contributing member of this forum. The passion for the TB breed is what seems to fuel most of our fires, whether we happen to hold paper on them or not. :D

I'm glad you left the ranks of the lurkers and gave us such a warm and visually poetic introduction.

Best Wishes and Happy Holidays,
Laurie

and welcome from cold, rainy (???) Ontario, Canada where we have lovely freezing rain now which will freeze solid in the next few days and turn all the paddocks into skating rinks ... :?

Today we spent the day outfitting everyone with skates and teaching them all the finer points and maintaining their balance on all 4 legs ... :( ...

Did I say I'd rather live in Florida, Kentucky, or anywhere else that doesnt have snow?!

Welcome again and Merry Christmas! :)
