Ok everyone, big day is almost here and I felt a poll was in order. Who will win the Kentucky Derby?

Of the list I voted Sweetnorthernsaint, only because I like his style and he improves with every race. Plus his sire is a favorite of mine. I like Lawyer Ron also, but like somebody else has mentioned, his times werent too impressive. But other than what will probably be the favorites listed above, the only way I see any other horse winning is if it turns out like last year and the whole damn thing is chasing the rabbit. With Sinister Minister, could be very likely.
I'm intrigued by SNS. He's improving every race. I like his stride and I think he will stretch out in distance, note how fast he's been coming home in all his races. Love the Waquoit broodmare sire.
I think this is an excellent field. Lawyer Ron, Barbaro, and Bro Derek look like special horses.
My longshots are Sharp Humor and Sunriver (if he can get in).

I think we need the option of voting for 'dear God ask me something easier like what's the deal with the grassy knoll or who will win the lottery."
Everytime I get a pick I like I waffle, thinking I really should be wary of some other individual. And then I change my mind once again. I just don't wanna catch crap from anybody going 'oh I had him from day 1' cuz it's not so simple that you could see it coming a mile away. At least it isn't to most folks, I imagine. It's a little too easy to be on the Brother Derek or Lawyer Ron bandwagon's and BD has the RAN curse (and I still harbor a bizarre grudge that he beat Stevie Wonderboy) and I have a negative association with the name Ron, even though the horse is quite lovely. Still, fine horses so if it were either I wouldn't mind.
Too many nice geldings but I can't put my whole heart into wanting them to win the Derby or Triple Crown. I'm a breeding snob in that way and want something that can pass on genes to win. Still, some of my faves are geldings so that bites. I'll probably put my vote in next week. Too confused right now.

derby winner........(drumroll)
Of all the horses running this year i am going to put a $10.oo ex on Barbaro and lawyer ron. Both excel in big fields, have smart jockeys who put their horses in positive positions, neither had to win lst time out, but they did. who did they run against, nodody. but im willing to bet that with the long front stretch, both will have good trips to satisfy my ex bet.
Without the post position drawn yet, i still believe both have the stuff to win. Dark horses: sweetnsaint, cause2believe, and piontdetermined round out my trifecta. goodluck on all your wages people.

i'm all over barbaro, i got $5 on him in the last future pool at i think 8-1. i got first samarai also but that's the way it goes, wishing him a speedy recovery. but i'll be rooting for SNS since he's the maryland connection. one horse that really intrigues me is Showing Up, i read an article that stated barclay tagg really wants to run this horse. as conservative as he is, that makes me think he may have a shot. there's so much speed in the race, something will drop out of the sky at about 1000-1 and we'll all scramble back to wonder how we missed it.
