New Mares

Postby madelyn » Fri Sep 01, 2006 5:34 pm

I've gathered quite a few new mares this year and welcome opinions on them. Some got here early enough to be bred to Rocking Trick this year, some are for '07:

BJ Runner (in foal now)
Belle Masque """
Sal's Prospector """
Chris's Gal """

Tobago Cayes (open)
Proudtobealawyer (open)
Lady Bomb (in foal to Diazo)
Julie's Gem (in foal to Minardi)

and if I could swing it to get Rovanna or Miss Tejas, which one and why?
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Miss Tejas looks to be a refined scopy horse and might complement the cross of power and speed in Rocking Trick. Also I like the linebreeding through Icecapade, Northern Dancer, and Native Dancer. Her pedigree has more familiar names than all the non-U.S. names of Rovanna. And her female family has done well with several sire lines including Northern Dancer sons.
