Dear Jenarby,

Thank you so much for reporting this very interesting and valuable case. Yes, Sandpit is a bona fide sabino source. Nice telltelling markings. Great.
Blessings,

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

What a beautiful filly!
She has sabino influences on both sides of the family, as maternal grand sire Media Starguest is also a sabino.

Yes she's got the markings but that neck, her straight shoulder and being 'slab slided' turns me off for being sporthorse material or even sporthorse dam. She is the picture of her sire and I bet her breeders were extremely hopeful about their/her futures.

Diane, I'm curious what you don't like about the mare's neck. I am always looking for education...I see the straight shoulder, but I'm curious about the neck. Slab sided never turned me off since I need a tallish horse for my upper body, but have really short legs

Hunt jump,
Go look at Camohn's website page of Wild by Design. His neck is beautiful. It has length, it ties into his wither correctly which means the muscles across the topline can develope and support whatever he is doing be it jumping something big or collecting himself in beautiful self carriage for dressage. His throatlatch is prettier than many stallions and is fine enough to allow him to flex and collect and still breath. His soft jaw is testament that he is comfortable going in collected frame. If he didn't have the correct conformation of neck doing these things would not be easy for him. The sabino filly by Sandpit may have the attitude, willingness for advanced work but it won't be easy for her. Her neck is short. As her neck muscles develope with correct training they will enlarge and make it harder for her to flex or stretch for jumping/dressage. When things are difficult by nature it leads to resistance. "Sporthorse" usually involves jumping or dressage but this filly might do better at ?? barrels? Something I know nothing about.

Her upright shoulder and short, thick neck would probably prevent upper level dressage, but it shouldn't prevent her from having a useful career as a hunter or even a low-level eventing.

It is hard to tell too much from photos, but she doesn't look as severely upright in the pasterns, etc, as a lot of these types of horses can be. She
has a nice short back and looks really strong over the loins. She also has lots of hock action and a huge overstep. These assets may make her more athletic and durable than one would expect.

This mare wouldn't be a hack winner at a "A" level show, but she looks like she could be really fun to ride. Her expression is bright and her body is well-muscled and smooth--overall, she makes a really cute picture.

There is always a demand for good 3' and 3'6" horses as projects and local showing, and at $700 she could be really successful if she finds a niche like this.
