Michigan Stallions

Postby Vindicated » Mon Oct 23, 2006 4:16 pm

Looking over the Thoroughbred Times Stallion list for Michigan (New)
and noted that a few stallions that I was interested in were no longer on the list-Two of which I was considering for this year (Quiet Enjoyment, Crimson Guard) and a few others that I am just curious about (Finocchio, Georgia Crown, Majesty's Imp, North Woodman) any ideas?

Thanks

The Stallion Register of the "Blood-Horse" says the following:

Crimson Guard, Quiet Enjoyment, Georgia Crown, Majesty's Imp, Finocchio are all still in MI. Hmmm...

I couldn't find anything on NW.

Hmmm.....and upon checking that register I discovered that none of the new (2007) stallions (Monetary Star{ :D }, Gainango, Peck and Valid Trefaire) are on it-leading me to believe that it has yet to be updated....

if you are looking for a solid horse whos thrown a few stakes winners from a very limited number of foals look up MINISTRY. He will be 27 in Jan...yes I said 27 and hes still producing. Currently he has a 2 yr old daughter who will be headed to the Fair Hill Training Center in Md a yrgl daughter who is soon to head to NC to be broke and start her training and he has a small but attractive crop of foals coming in 2007 in Michican.

Check him out on www.horsepowercompany.com go to breeding and then to sires.

Also his 2 yr old should be seeing her first race in about 4-6 weeks. We are very excited about her...shes the best one of his foals I ahve seen yet!

BTW he was my 3 day event horse for 9 yrs and retired as a soilid prelim horse also schooled to 3rd level dressage!

I just got new pics of his 2 yr old daughter at the trainers and would be happy to share them to those who ask....remember MINISTRY X The Minstrel....bred for the grass with a TON OF SPEED! and it carrys through on the DIRT!

Majesty's Imp was last bred in 2004 & Finocchio hasn't bred mares since 2003 and was struck by lightening and killed a few years ago. His old owner bred a mare to Perfect Circle this year and told me all about it.

I could be wrong but I think Harold Howard has Quiet Enjoyment now. He used to be at Hubel Farms in Clare...

I have NEVER been impressed with ANYTHING North Woodsman has thrown.. but that is just my opinion.

Monetary Star- I thought he was still running in claimers.. Didn't know they would try to stand him.

If anyone wants an old stakes horse to stand- Adios Muchachos is a 4 time stakes winner of almost 300k.. his owner wants a couple thousand for him.

What is the future of racing in Michigan? Is Stronach serious about building a new Detroit area track?

Racing in Michigan... hmmm.. The future is looking pretty grim.
There have been enough people fighting for the detroit area license that I hope someone actually does build a track.

At this point I think that Slots wont pass (EVER) so Stronach wont build a track. He DID buy the land, but its still being farmed by the former owner. It was a corn field this year. Its really difficult to say what will happen.

If I didn't own a stallion (Perfect Circle & a share of Equality) I would never foal a horse out in Michigan. My good mares have always foaled in KY.

Now there's a blast from the past. I owned a couple of QHs by Harold Howards stallions Eternal Sun and Story Man. We ran the Story Man a few times at MPM. Has Harold gone into TBs now, or is this a son?

Georgia Crown went to Texas? Apparently, I'm not keeping up with current events. WHERE in Texas?

I don't keep up with Michigan racing or bloodlines anymore, but isn't Demaloot Demashoot still considered one of the top stallions for TB runners?

Laurie,
I was not getting enough interest in him(Georgia Crown) here and I have a small farm anyway so it was a decission in his best interest to have him stand in Texas, the register hasn't even been delivered and he already has 13 mares..so I think he will be received better in Texas where racing has a great future then he was here in Michigan. Plus I think he will like the winter a little bit better too. ( I need to move there too!
He is in the Dallas area. PM me if you would like more info..I know you were interested last year now he is closer

Have you seen him? He's phenomanally good looking and wonderfully tempered-and has three great gaits...

And he is a Stakes winning son of Monetary Gift...

Far more qualified to stand than some of the stallions here...as for him running in the claimers, true-but he earned a chance at a happy second career-

Not to mention-his owners did what all of the owners of "top" stallion prospects are scared too do-Run them....

Michigan Stallions-Quiet Enjoyment

Postby Let's Race » Sat Nov 25, 2006 4:45 pm

Quiet Enjoyment is standing at Harold Howard farms in Remus, Michigan. He was acquired from Hubel Farms in early 2006. His information is listed in the MTOBA website. If you are unable to fnd the contact information, just post a reply.

Great stud and a very nice facility to have a mare bred in, heated barn, etc. We are expecting a Quiet Enjoyment baby in late February.
