What lines to produce a champion

Hello what kind of mare and what kind of sire pedigree and race wise to produce a champion.All help would be greatly appreciated.

That's a searchable database with all the Eclipse Champions since the 70's. They should all be in the pedigree query if you want a closer look at the pedigrees.

Jordan, you are obviously an excited and curious thoroughbred fan. You might invest in Avalyn Hunter's book American Classic Pedigrees for some worthwhile, timeless information that you seek. It takes race winners of certain classic races here and abroad over several generations, and gives histories and ancestries about each of them. You'll love it!

Thirty years ago there was an abundance of NP sire lines that were available to breed to those quality stallions. The results of those matings produced many champions and superior runners.

When I researched those matings I found that every individual stallion will produce those superior runners with his own bloodline affinity.

Today 90 % of the breed is from the Phalaris sire line and these stallions dont have those NP sire line mares to breed too. Thats why we are not producing those quality superior runners of the past.
