Sky Pegasus again!

Postby Laurierace » Mon Nov 27, 2006 11:46 am

Ok, now we are getting somewhere! Sky got his gate card on Wednesday. He out broke the other three horses by a good 3/4 of a length. He wasn't supposed to be working but apparently the clocker caught him in 39 for 3f. He finished up ten lenghts in front of the second place horse and about half a mile in front of the other two.
Here is the best part!!!! He actually bucked and then reared up and got away from my groom while he was being walked around the shed for a turn before the rider got on today! Not bad for a horse who used to act like a hundred year old plow mule, man boobs and all!
He looks night and day from when I got him and is finally acting like a race horse. This might really be happening.........

I have him in my virtual stable and it picked up the work. Much better to get the inside scoop on what was really going on. You have a virtual fan club in place for him after you let us all in on the story. Best of racing luck.

You know truthfully, the big races are still a long shot. But I didn't think he had a shot in hell of making it to the races at all when I got him. I have been talking the talk since day one, but I thought it was wishful thinking at best. I figured if he was this messed up already he was going to get worse not better with training. Don't ask me how cause I don't know, but his legs look totally perfect right now. I would be willing to bet his ankles look better now than when he came out of his Mama!
Please keep up the good thoughts and well wishes, whatever we are doing its working!

C.mon Sky! Let us know when he's ready to try his wings!

So happy for you Laurie! I just got back from my weeklong excursion for Thanksgiving with the family so I came back to a really fun thread. I love that he's working out for you. We're proud aunts and uncles here. You know you might end up with the FuPeg that actually works out after all the money that others have put out to no avail. 8)

I love that he went into and came out of the gate. You don't have to win the Derby with victories like a gate pass and a nice "work" to remember fondly although I'm sure we'd all like to stand in a winner's circle with roses.

Ok hot off the presses. They aren't the greatest pics, but are better than nothing. Maybe Sky will buy me a digital slr so I can get some decent action shots of him.

That is the black oil sunflower seeds (bird seed). All my horses shine like that, but thanks for noticing!
