Is there a problem with administering more that one vaccine at a time??
I have to give my mares and their 06 foals a six way, a West Nile virus and a Potomic Horse Fever.. All three at once or one per week for three weeks [eight weeks for the 06 colts]
I'd normally do one a week but they are presently three hours away.

I don't know about the foals, but with the mares I'd give two on one side of the neck and the third on the other. However, because the 6 way is such a broad one, you might think about the 6 way and a week later the other two. I normally give one or two on each side of the neck unless it is one that I know might cause stiffness or soreness.
Racing and retraining.
I always do ours all at the same time. I give EWEE, Tet, Flu, Rhino, WNV, sometimes Strangles and have also in some cases given EPM. I've never had a problem doing them all at the same time.
When I lived on the East Coast, I gave EWEE, Tet, Flu, Rhino, Rabies, and PHF all at the same time. That was pre-WNV and EPM time, and I had never been around Strangles problems back then so I didn't ever worry about that one.
Have fun Sunday!

Heartland Vet Supply sells it for $14.95, 10-dose pack for $139.95. 1-800-934-9398.
I usually get it through a pal who is a small animal vet and orders stuff for me as a favor if it prescription. I think it is the same as his price.
I like the intranasal. The IM strangles shot is about as effective as holy water.

So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
We give our own shots. My vet recommends we wait a week between the west Nile and the other vaccines. He feels the immune response is stronger this way, particularly for the West Nile. However, if he is making a farm call to give the shots he gives them all at once. Go figure.
He only recommends farm specific strangles vaccines which he prepares at his clinic.

Valleyvet.com sells IM strangles and W. Nile very inexpensively - we never usually vacinate against it, but it's been going around and I'd rather be proactive than dealing with it! Is there anywhere you can by EPM w/o a prescription?

Now that I'm thinking about it, I think I have purchased the Strangles Vaccine online. However, I thought that WNV had to come from a vet. Is this a new thing, being able to purchase that one without a script? I'll have to go check prices now... I'm sure it's cheaper online.
